Elders

What are elders?

In Titus 1:5-9, Paul lays out who should lead local congregations. Paul says to “appoint elders” in every town. Thus, “elders” are the people who lead our church. Elders are members of the church who are nominated by the congregation to serve as the spiritual leaders of the church. Elders  serve 3 year terms and each year, a new ‘class” of 2-3 elders are elected by the members of our church each year.

Deacons:

What are deacons?

Deacons are well-attested in the New Testament. Whereas elders seek to serve the spiritual needs of the congregation, deacons are called to serve the physical needs of the congregation. Having both elders and deacons in the local church is an incredible blessing for congregants to experience the blessings of being members of the body of Christ.
